By 2025\, the conference reached its 28th year\, reflecting a long-standing tradition of service\, fellowship\, and consistency. \nFrom the beginning\, the structure has remained true to the spirit of AA conferences. The weekend includes multiple speakers from across the country\, Al-Anon participation offering the family perspective\, and time set aside for fellowship through shared meals and informal gatherings. The goal has always been to keep the conference accessible and welcoming to all. \nOver the years\, Sunlight has grown beyond a local event. By the early 2000s\, it was already drawing nationally recognized AA speakers and becoming part of the broader conference circuit\, while still maintaining its grounded\, approachable feel. \nThe conference has consistently been held in York\, PA\, typically in a hotel-style setting that allows for a full weekend experience. That consistency\, both in location and format\, is part of what has made Sunlight of the Spirit a trusted and familiar gathering for many in the recovery community.

DESCRIPTION:69th Annual Eastern Pennsylvania General Service Convention and Assembly (EPGSA)\nFriday to Sunday November 13-15\, 2026\, 1 PM to Noon\nWyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center 2300 E Lincoln Highway\, Lancaster\, PA 17602 \n  \n\nWho attends the Convention/Assembly?\n• All Area Officers\, DCMs\, GSRs\, and interested A.A. members.\n• The Home Group should financially support its GSR in attending the Convention/Assembly. What happens in the Convention/Assembly?\n• In even-numbered years\, we have elections for the Delegate and Area Officers.\n• In odd-numbered years\, we gather for an Assembly where the Area Officers and Area Committees report on their work to the Assembly.\n• Each year\, we have workshops\, discussion panels\, and meetings where the voices of the entire area are shared\, offering each of us a wider and varied experience of what we could get ourselves to do with the work of the 12th step and about service. \nWhat can I get out of this experience?\n• A renewed sense of purpose and energy to carry A.A.’s message.\n• A greater understanding of the issues involved and solutions to the problems we face when we are trying to carry the message to suffering alcoholics.\n• A sense of being a part of Area 59 and A.A. as a whole\, sharing in the ongoing efforts to protect our Fellowship and carry our message. What do I do afterward?\n• GSRs should consider giving a report to their group.\n• Members can and should share their experiences at meetings and among friends. \nWhy is it important?\n• This is the only time each year when we gather\, speak\, and vote as an Area. The Delegate may take this opportunity to seek guidance from the Assembly on matters concerning the Area or the Conference.\n• At these Area gatherings\, we have a rare opportunity to share our concerns and solutions to problems we face in carrying A.A.’s message with a diverse group who can inform us of their experience.
